Key Cutting on the Mornington Peninsula
Spare house keys, keys for a new tenant, a key cut to a lock when the original is lost, or restricted keys that can't be copied at the hardware store.
Spare keys
Having a spare cut costs far less than a lockout. A spare for the neighbour, the cleaner or the holiday house, a key for each person in the house, or one to hide somewhere sensible (not under the doormat).
Keys cut to a lock
Lost the only key to a padlock, letterbox, shed or door? A locksmith can usually cut a new key straight from the lock, without replacing it.
Restricted key systems
Restricted keys are cut only by authorised locksmiths with proof of ownership, so nobody can walk into a key-cutting kiosk and copy them. They suit businesses, strata buildings and anyone who wants control over who has a key.
Broken and worn keys
Worn keys can be hard to turn and can damage the lock over time. A locksmith can cut a fresh key to the original code rather than copying the wear.

Frequently asked questions
Your questions, answered
Can you copy a key that says "do not duplicate"?
Restricted keys can only be copied by an authorised locksmith with the right paperwork from the key holder or owner. A stamp on an ordinary key doesn't make it restricted.
Can you cut a key for a letterbox or padlock without the original?
Usually, yes. A locksmith can cut a key from the lock itself.
Can you come to me?
Ask when you call. Mobile locksmiths can cut many keys on site.
